The Crack
Turks and Caicos Islands · Turks and Caicos Islands
The Crack is a dramatic fissure in the reef platform on the Northwest Point wall system, where the coral plateau splits open and divers can swim down through a canyon that opens onto the main wall face. The crevice itself is densely packed with glassy sweepers and copper sweepers that catch the light in shimmering curtains. Nurse sharks rest on the sandy floor of the canyon, and lobster occupy every overhang. The exit onto the open wall brings an abrupt shift to big water, with reef sharks visible in the blue water column below.
