Lagoon Bommies
Dive site
Scattered across the sandy lagoon floor, isolated coral heads rise from 20 metres to within 2 metres of the surface, each one a self-contained ecosystem. Resting green turtles wedge themselves beneath overhangs. Juvenile napoleon wrasse hide in table coral. The calm conditions and shallow depth make this Funafuti's most accessible dive — and the place where night dives reward with sleeping sharks and hunting octopus.
