Te Ava Pua Channel
Dive site
The main pass cutting through Funafuti Atoll feeds a torrent of nutrient-rich water into the lagoon on the incoming tide. Napoleon wrasse cruise the channel mid-water while grey reef sharks patrol the drop-off edge. On a strong push the water turns blue-green and visibility stretches to 30 metres. This is the one dive in Tuvalu where pelagic encounters feel reliable.
