Tutuba Island Wall
Santo Wreck & Reef Circuit · Vanuatu
Tutuba Island sits in Segond Channel just south of Luganville and presents a dramatic coral wall that drops from 8 metres to beyond recreational limits, draped in some of the healthiest gorgonian sea fans in Vanuatu. The wall's upper terrace supports dense aggregations of anthias and chromis feeding in the current while deeper sections host pelagic action including grey reef sharks, dogtooth tuna, and occasional hammerheads cruising the blue water beyond the drop. Macro life on the wall face is exceptional: pygmy seahorses colonise the larger sea fans, ghost pipefish hover near featherstars, and diverse nudibranch assemblages cover every surface. The site is reached by a short 15-minute boat ride from Luganville and is often combined with a Coolidge morning dive.
