Lake Lalolalo Wall
Wallis Island · France
Wallis has a series of volcanic crater lakes, and where the reef system runs close to the western shore the wall dive bordering this coastline is exceptional. The outer reef wall plunges from 2 metres at the crest to over 45 metres, festooned with sea fans and soft corals. Grey reef sharks cruise the deeper sections while the shallow crest teems with chromis, anthias, and butterflyfish. The site is rarely visited, making encounters unhurried and wildlife unaffected by diver pressure.
