Scuba Season
Thriving

Tobago Southwest

Trinidad and Tobago · Caribbean

The sheltered leeward coast around Crown Point and Buccoo holds some of Tobago's most accessible yet rewarding diving — massive brain corals the size of small cars, dense sponge forests, and resident Atlantic spotted eagle rays patrolling the sand channels. Between January and May, visibility regularly exceeds 25 metres and water temperatures sit at a comfortable 26 to 28 degrees. From April through June, whale sharks and Atlantic giant mantas move through the deeper blue water off the southwest tip, drawn by seasonal plankton blooms — one of the few Atlantic locations where both species appear reliably in the same season.
