Schools of electric-blue flecked trevally orbit the wreck in tight formation, making coordinated attacks on baitfish schools that shelter around the mast and forward hold. Their iridescent blue fins and spotted flanks glow brilliantly in torch light during night dives, when they hunt aggressively using divers' lights to disorient prey. They are among the fastest accelerating fish on the reef and their predatory runs are among the most spectacular events on the Mercury.
