Isleta del Moro
Almería · Spain
Isleta del Moro is a fishing village turned dive hub on the central coast of Cabo de Gata, where a submerged volcanic reef system extends from the islet's rocky flanks through meadow-covered sand plains to a series of undercuts and small sea caves at 15 to 25 metres that shelter an impressive diversity of sedentary species. The site is best known for large resident conger eels, colourful nudibranch assemblages in winter and spring, and the reliable appearance of eagle rays gliding across the sandy margin between the reef and the open-water approach in late summer. Its central location within the park and easy boat access from the village make it the most frequently dived site for intermediate divers visiting Almería.
