Silvertips patrol the wall edge and channel entrance, capitalising on the reef fish prey that concentrates around the coral buttresses. They are opportunistic and curious, often making close passes at divers descending the anchor line before retreating to deeper water. Their presence alongside hammerheads gives this site one of the most diverse elasmobranch assemblages in the Ryukyu chain.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
