A pair of large Napoleon wrasse frequent the deep section of the wall, where they graze on hard corals and invertebrates with their powerful beaks. These animals are estimated to be over 20 years old based on their size, and they show no fear of divers, approaching closely enough for eye contact. Their presence is a strong indicator of the site's protection from fishing pressure.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
