Sighting evidence at Blue Holes, Andros

Remipedes are ancient, blind crustaceans found only in anchialine cave systems — marine caves with a hidden connection to the sea. The Andros blue holes are one of the few places in the world where divers with cave certification can observe these living relics, which have remained essentially unchanged for hundreds of millions of years. Their presence is a powerful indicator of the caves' ecological isolation and pristine water quality.
