Spotted eagle rays make regular passes around the MV Andes, likely attracted by the bivalves and small crustaceans that colonise the sandy seabed surrounding the hull. Their wingspans often reach 1.5–2 metres, and lone individuals or pairs circle the wreck at mid-water depths of 8–12 metres. The predictability of these sightings makes the Andes one of Antigua's most reliable eagle ray encounters.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
