Overview
Scapa Flow in the Orkney Islands is globally renowned for its WWI German High Seas Fleet wrecks, scuttled in 1919. This historic site offers an unparalleled wreck diving experience, with battleships, cruisers, and destroyers lying in depths accessible to advanced divers. The cold, clear waters preserve these maritime giants, providing a unique journey into naval history.
Briefing note
Access to some wreck sites may require specific permits or experienced guides. Strong currents can be present. Advanced wreck diving experience is highly recommended.

How we summarise this
We aggregate confirmed occurrence records from GBIF and OBIS within a fixed radius of each dive site. Occurrence records confirm presence and reveal seasonality clustering, but they DO NOT measure per-dive probability — there is no eligible-effort denominator. We deliberately do not publish a numeric '% chance of sighting' from this data.
