Caban Island
Batangas · Philippines
Caban Island is a small uninhabited island off the Mabini Peninsula surrounded by healthy hard coral gardens and a sloping reef wall that descends to 30 meters, hosting one of the most reliably diverse megafauna assemblages in Batangas. Resident green and hawksbill turtles graze the coral flats throughout the day, while whitetip reef sharks rest in the sandy channels below the wall. The island's relative distance from shore protects it from sedimentation runoff, maintaining clarity and coral cover that rivals the best sites in Anilao.
