Cuttlefish aggregate inside the wreck's holds from spring through autumn, using the dark interior as both shelter and hunting ground for small fish and crustaceans. Their chromatophore-driven camouflage creates extraordinary light-show displays when dive torches are introduced. Egg masses are attached to internal structures each spring, making April and May particularly rewarding for observation.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
