Large specimens inhabit the rocky ridges dividing the sandy floor, their heads protruding from crevices to reveal their characteristic marbled brown patterning. On night dives they leave their dens to hunt crabs and small fish across the open sand. Sarsala Bay supports a notably dense moray population compared to more exposed coastal sites.

How is this calculated?
