Schools of giant trevally prowl the upper plateau and walls of Habili Ali, corralling smaller reef fish against the pinnacle sides in coordinated hunting strikes that produce explosive bursts of action visible from 20 m away. The largest individuals exceed 70 cm and can exceed 80 kg, making GT schools at Habili Ali some of the most imposing reef fish aggregations in the Fury Shoals. Their tendency to shelter large schools in pinnacle downcurrents makes descending the eastern wall of Habili Ali a particularly reliable giant trevally encounter.
