Black-tip reef sharks are shallower and more active than white-tips and are frequently seen cruising the reef crest at 5 m to 10 m at Shark Point. Their presence at a site accessible to beginner divers makes the Gilis unusual in the region: most comparable sites with reliable shark density require advanced certification.
