Babylon
Grand Cayman · Cayman Islands
Babylon is a cluster of spectacular coral pinnacles rising from 24 metres up to within 8 metres of the surface on Grand Cayman's south side, each column encrusted with dense layers of orange and purple tube sponges, plate corals, and black coral trees. The structure creates micro-habitats that concentrate resident species at every depth, from juvenile damselfish at the crown to sleeping nurse sharks at the base. The site's sheltered position means conditions stay diveable when north side sites kick up.
