Barracuda schools gather around Es Vedrà's steep flanks from April through October, hunting the abundant bream and wrasse populations that live along the rocky walls. Schools of 50 to 200 individuals form and disperse throughout the dive, making several passes through the water column. The open-water exposure of the site attracts larger, more pelagic barracuda than sheltered bay sites.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
