Spiny lobsters shelter in the rock crevices of Xarraca Bay throughout the day, emerging at night to forage across the surrounding reef and posidonia. Night dives here regularly reveal groups of lobsters moving purposefully across open sand in what appears to be coordinated migration behaviour. Their relative abundance at Xarraca, compared to heavily fished areas, reflects the calmer, less pressured nature of Ibiza's northern coast.
