Resident population of reef mantas uses this pinnacle as a primary cleaning station, with peak aggregations of 10-20 individuals recorded between October and March when plankton blooms peak. Individual rays are photo-identified by belly spot patterns and many have been tracked returning to this exact site for over a decade, suggesting strong site fidelity. Their feeding loops through the water column create a mesmerizing spectacle and position Inhambane among the world's top manta encounters.
