Blacktips cruise the reef slope in small groups, attracted by the concentration of reef fish and the elevated water temperature. They are most frequently sighted in the cooler months of November through March when visibility peaks and the current slows. Though shy, patient divers hovering low on the sand often see them pass within a few meters.
