Hawksbill turtles forage actively on the coral slope at Nan Wan, using their narrow pointed beaks to extract sponges from inside reef crevices. They are more solitary than the green turtles of nearby sites and are often seen in the 10 to 18 meter range moving methodically between coral formations. Their presence here reflects improving reef health inside the national park over the past two decades.
