Hiroshi Point
Kosrae · Federated States of Micronesia
Hiroshi Point is a gently sloping reef on Kosrae's eastern shore named after a local fisherman, presenting the island's most accessible diving with outstanding coral cover across a wide, shallow plateau before giving way to a moderate wall at 20 meters. The shallows are saturated with table and staghorn acropora colonies in colours ranging from electric blue to amber, providing habitat complexity that supports unusually high fish species diversity. Sea turtles rest on the coral heads throughout the afternoon hours, and the gentle topography makes this an ideal second dive after more demanding deep wall sites.
