Chromodoris Nudibranchs

Chromodoris luteorosea

Sighting evidence at Çiftlik Bay, Marmaris

Çiftlik Bay's sponge-rich walls host a remarkable diversity of aeolid and dorid nudibranchs throughout the year, with colourful Chromodoris and Flabellina species among the most frequently encountered. They feed on specific sponge and hydroid prey and are therefore reliable indicators of healthy benthic communities. Spring brings peak diversity as nudibranchs reproduce, and patient macro photographers working the wall at depth can expect to find multiple species on a single dive.
