The giant moray is the largest moray eel species in the world, reaching 3 metres and 30 kilograms. Wrapping itself into granite fissures inside the Cathedral Caves, it is a fixture of every dive here. Cooperative hunting partnerships with groupers have been documented in Indian Ocean populations, with the grouper flushing prey into the open and the moray pursuing it into crevices.
