Cathedral Caves Mauritius
Mauritius · Mauritius
A series of granite archways and chambers on the northwest coast, formed by volcanic granite boulders stacked into natural rooms that divers can swim through. Light rays pierce overhead openings and illuminate the interior in columns, giving the site its name. Resident groupers and moray eels occupy permanent territories in the deepest chambers, while parrotfish graze the exterior granite.
