Bargibant's pygmy seahorses are found in pairs on Muricella sea fans at the cave entrance, their pink-and-red coloration matching the fan's polyps with extraordinary precision. This species was the first pygmy seahorse described to science and remains one of the most sought-after macro subjects in Southeast Asia. Guides in Romblon have documented consistent populations on specific fans for several years running.
