Glassfish (Indian glassy fish)

Parambassis ranga

Sighting evidence at Pirate Wreck, Sainte-Marie Island

Dense schools of glassfish congregate in the lee of the wreck structure, forming shimmering translucent curtains in the filtered light. Their near-transparent bodies make individual fish almost invisible, giving the school an eerie collective shimmer. The aggregations attract jacks and larger predators that make occasional high-speed passes through the baitball.
