Spotted eagle rays glide along the wall face at Mustique at mid-depths of 15–25 metres, their white-spotted dorsal surfaces contrasting brilliantly against the deep blue water of the drop-off. They are regular visitors to the sandy ledges where they root for bivalves and crustaceans using their distinctive duck-bill snouts. Groups of three to five individuals are occasionally seen together during seasonal aggregations in the early months of the year.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
