Green turtles are daily residents of Bahía Concha, using the bay's extensive seagrass beds as their primary feeding ground. Unlike the hawksbill, adult green turtles are largely herbivorous, and their grazing maintains seagrass health by stimulating new growth and preventing overgrowth — a key ecosystem service. Individuals often return to the same feeding patches for years, and regular observers have documented individual turtles by their unique facial scale patterns.
