Several large napoleon wrasse have established territories around Tiger Reef's upper pinnacle, using the current upwellings to ambush crustaceans dislodged from the rocky substrate. As one of the reef's most intelligent fish, they demonstrate learned behaviour around divers, maintaining a comfortable proximity while foraging. Their large size and distinctive humped forehead make them unmistakable focal species on every dive.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
