Nurse sharks rest in small aggregations under the ledges along the base of Chagville's reef slope, often three or four animals together in a single overhang. They are nocturnal hunters of lobster and small fish but are reliably encountered at rest during daytime dives. Their aggregation behavior at this site suggests long-term site fidelity and an undisturbed population.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
