Among the most elegant pelagics in the Caribbean, spotted eagle rays cruise open water and reef edges hunting molluscs and crustaceans with their distinctive shovel-shaped snouts. Groups of up to 20 individuals are occasionally sighted along the Providenciales wall during the winter months, riding the gentle thermocline current in loose formation.
