Turtle Nesting Reef

Dive site

The Conservation Area's northwestern islets are active green turtle nesting sites — the beach above and the reef below form an unbroken protected corridor. Underwater the reef flat is exceptionally healthy with a dense community of brain corals and staghorn fields. Turtles are present year-round: grazing on seagrass in the shallows, resting on coral heads, or returning to sea after nesting. This is one of the few places in the central Pacific where you can observe the full turtle life cycle.
