Skomer's tompot blennies are exceptionally bold and approach divers to investigate cameras and masks, their elaborate supraorbital tentacles and pouting expressions making them irresistible photographic subjects. Males are highly territorial and guard egg clutches in crevices through summer, displaying aggressively to intruders while females cruise past assessing their fitness. Skomer is frequently cited as one of the top tompot blenny sites in the British Isles due to the high density and the animals' extraordinary approachability.
