Sawa-i-Lau Blue Lagoon
Yasawa Islands · Fiji
Sawa-i-Lau is a limestone island rising from the Yasawa chain with a cave system that partially floods at high tide, creating ethereal blue chambers where shafts of sunlight refract through submerged cave entrances into the dark interior. Green turtles nest on the island's beaches and rest on the shallow reef platform outside the caves, often approached to within a few metres by snorkellers and divers. The cave diving experience here is accessible and non-technical, with easy in-and-out navigation through spacious cavern passages.
