Laganas Bay supports one of the highest densities of loggerhead sea turtles in the Mediterranean, with over 1,000 nests recorded in peak years on the adjacent beaches. Turtles feed primarily on jellyfish and seagrass invertebrates, and divers regularly encounter multiple individuals on a single dive during summer months.
