Watamu & Malindi
Kenya · East Africa
Kenya's premier marine park stretches along a turquoise coastline where ancient coral gardens shelter an extraordinary diversity of reef life. Watamu Marine National Park is one of East Africa's oldest protected areas, its shallow lagoons and deeper reef slopes teeming with hawksbill and green turtles year round. From November to March whale sharks cruise the warm Indian Ocean waters offshore, drawing divers from across the world for gentle encounters with the ocean's largest fish. Pristine plate corals, bommies draped in soft corals, and walls alive with lionfish, moray eels, and schooling surgeonfish make every dive a visual feast. The calm conditions and warm water suit divers of all experience levels.
