Queen angelfish patrol the coral-encrusted sections of both wrecks in loose pairs, feeding on the sponges that have colonised the iron substrate over eight decades of growth. Their vivid electric blue and yellow colouration is among the most recognisable of any Atlantic reef fish, and pairs here appear to be long-term residents of specific territories within the wreck complex. They also pick and clean external parasites from larger fish, playing a minor cleaner role at informal cleaning stations near the bow sections.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
