Common Dentex

Dentex dentex

Sighting evidence at Ildiz Reef, Bodrum

Dentex are one of the Mediterranean's top reef predators and Ildiz Reef is one of the most reliable sites in the Bodrum area to encounter them in numbers. They patrol the open water above the pinnacle in small hunting groups, targeting smaller reef fish and occasionally school tuna passing through. Their bold, curious nature makes them excellent subjects for wide-angle photography.
