Underwater at Chachacual Bay

Chachacual Bay

Huatulco · Mexico

Chachacual is the most remote and pristine bay in the Huatulco biosphere reserve, accessible only by boat, with coral-encrusted rocky reefs sheltering resident hawksbill turtles and frequent visits from Pacific spotted dolphins. The bay's clear water and minimal current make it ideal for relaxed drift dives along bouldered slopes that tumble from 5 m to 25 m before giving way to sandy channels. Schooling jacks, king angelfish, and the occasional Pacific green turtle round out an encounter list that rewards patient observers.
