La India Reef
Huatulco · Mexico
La India is a submerged rocky pinnacle system rising from 28 m to 8 m off Santa Cruz Bay, consistently attracting dense aggregations of schooling fish — bigeye jacks, Cortez chubs, and Moorish idols swirl above the structure in curtains that temporarily block the sunlight. Moray eels of several species occupy every crack in the basalt, with large undulated morays regularly found in open water during cleaning. A surge-washed shallow terrace at the top provides excellent wide-angle photography opportunities against a backdrop of schooling silversides.
