Jesser Point
Inhambane · Mozambique
A dramatic underwater headland that extends from Tofo Beach into the Mozambique Channel, generating reliable currents that concentrate schooling fish and attract large predators including tiger sharks, bull sharks, and hammerhead schools that patrol the deeper blue margins. The reef structure descends through a series of terraces covered in hard coral gardens before dropping into a sand and rubble slope at 30 metres, providing habitat diversity that supports an unusually rich assemblage of both pelagic and reef species. This is one of the few accessible sites in southern Africa where tiger sharks are encountered consistently enough to plan a dedicated dive around the sighting.
