Puerto del Carmen Bream Reef

Dive site

A broad volcanic reef shelf running parallel to the Puerto del Carmen seafront, dropping from 6 m in the shallows to a sandy plain at 18 m. Dense shoals of white seabream and saddled seabream carpet every structure from late spring through autumn, providing the baitfish density that draws angel sharks, eagle rays, and occasional leopard torpedo rays into the area. The sandy channels between basalt fingers are classic angel shark resting habitat — shallow enough for confident beginners but rich enough to keep experienced divers returning. Morning dives offer the best light and the calmest surface conditions.
