Ant Atoll
Pohnpei · Federated States of Micronesia
Ant Atoll is a small, uninhabited atoll 10 kilometers southwest of Pohnpei, enclosing a pristine lagoon with crystal-clear water and one of the least disturbed reef ecosystems in all of Micronesia. Its remoteness and the lack of any permanent human settlement have preserved shark populations and coral coverage that have disappeared from most comparable sites in the region. Divers make a full-day expedition here, typically completing two dives on the outer reef passes and one on the lagoon patch reefs before the return crossing.
