Schools of yellowfin tuna occasionally sweep through the blue water off Cobrador during the northeast monsoon months, following the baitfish that concentrate around the island's tip. These encounters are brief and exhilarating, requiring divers to hover at the wall edge and wait in the current. The convergence of cold upwelling water from the Sibuyan Sea drives these pelagic aggregations.

How is this calculated?

Sighting evidence is compiled from iNaturalist observation records within a set proximity radius, filtered for quality-grade observations. “Last confirmed” is the date of the most recent research-grade record. Record count covers a rolling 24-month window. Confidence reflects record count, recency, and consistency of seasonal signal.
