Sighting evidence at Mérou Valley, Corsica

Large dentex cruise the mid-water above Mérou Valley, hunting in loose groups from spring through autumn. These powerful ambush predators can exceed 1 m in length and are among the most sought-after encounters for Mediterranean divers. Their steely blue-pink flanks and prominent teeth mark them as apex reef predators.
