One of the fastest and most powerful predators in the Mediterranean, Seriola dumerili arrives at exposed headlands to hunt in the current. Schools of dozens can appear without warning, circling divers with evident curiosity before vanishing back into the blue. They feed on mackerel, squid, and sardines, and their presence at Cap de Cavalleria signals a healthy prey base in the surrounding water column.
